The Group owns shares in a Terminal Operator located in the port of Livorno, thanks to which it is possible to offer services at particularly competitive rates.
This is a multipurpose terminal – mainly focused on bulk goods traffic – which operates on a 450-metre-long quay including three berths (49 – 50 – 51 Orlando), a draught of approximately 8.50 metres and a storage yard of approximately 27,000 metres.
In fact, several medium-sized ships can operate in the area at the same time. The land spaces are used for the storage of bulk products and non-containerized goods, in which there is also a large area reserved for storage under the customs regime of Temporary Custody with its progressive number of the Customs of Livorno 066V.
Annually the terminal handles about 700,000 tons of bulk and break-bulk cargo. It can handle all types of bulk and break-bulk cargo from any type of ship.
The goods can be embarked or disembarked directly (via hopper) on lorries or temporary storage can be provided on the yards in front of the quay in order to better organise the embarkation or, in case of disembarkation, the reloading and redelivery of the goods.
The unloading/unloading operations of the goods passing through the Terminal are supervised by personnel with many years of experience in the field of port handling of various goods. Most of the operators are multi-skilled and follow a continuous training program.
